Not Settling for Less

For most people with type 1 diabetes, John’s experience would have been categorized as above average. His blood sugar felt pretty well-controlled and his A1c was 6.3. But John knew he could feel better. He had low and unstable energy and his body experienced daily back and knee pain.

A Few Tweaks Can Go A Long Way

When he found out about Mastering Diabetes’ 6-week challenge, he decided to give it a try. He had already been eating a plant-based diet for 8 years, so he was familiar with the foundations of the lifestyle. However, there were still dietary changes to be made, particularly in regards to his intake of fat and more processed foods – and those changes worked!

Robby Barbaro, MPH is a New York Times bestselling co-author of Mastering Diabetes: The Revolutionary Method to Reverse Insulin Resistance Permanently in Type 1, Type 1.5, Type 2, Prediabetes, and Gestational Diabetes.
